Hunt
Elk and Mule Deer on the renowned Uncompahgre Plateau! We hunt in
Unit 62 on private ranches with holdings of more than 3000 acres.
This southwestern Colorado area ranges from the Pinon and Cedars
to Aspen and Pine. The hunting areas range from lush irrigated meadows
to rolling hills and some canyons that provide excellent hunting
opportunities. The elevation of the area varies from 6500 feet to
9500 feet.
Daniel
J. Humphrey is a native of Montrose, Colorado. He and his wife,
Susan, have been in the outfitting business starting in 1978. Through
the years they have offered a variety of hunts with one goal in
mind, you the customer and personal service!
We offer five
day hunts for rifle, archery and muzzleloading. Our hunts are guided
or drop camp style hunts. Lodging is in rustic cabins with primitive
bathroom facilities. Everything is provided for the full service,
fully guided hunts. Hunters will be required to arrive in Montrose
by Thursday before the hunt starts, we will move into the hunting
area on Friday. For drop camp hunts you will be escorted to the
property and provided maps of the area and tour all property lines,
as well as places of hunting opportunities. We will prepare you
to have any hunting advantages that we can provide, with information
of good locations and past experiences. By arriving to the area
early you can relax and settle into camp, as well as acclimate to
the elevation. Your comfort and enjoyment of the hunt is paramount
to us. We encourage young hunters as well as older hunters to come
to this area. This property is fairly easy to hunt.
