Hunting
the Colorado Rockies with Daniel J. Humphrey
CAMP
SUPPLIES
You are
responsible for all food and drink for the entire 5 day hunt, as
well as snacks for the field. You will need to provide your own
coolers for cold food storage. We will have available for your use
cookware and cooking utensils, a propane cook stove, Coleman Lanterns
and some dry food storage. You will need to purchase fuel for the
lanterns, as well as paper plates, cups and other eating utensils.
SPECIAL
DRAWING INFORMATION
It is important to note that all Mule Deer and some Elk permits
require you to apply for a special drawing. The applications for
this drawing are due BY APRIL 1, 2008. We would be happy
to help you obtain the application and the correct "hunt codes"
to apply for the area we hunt.
If you plan on hunting the Muzzleloading season, any Mule Deer season,
or the first or fourth Elk season, you MUST APPLY BY APRIL 1,
2008. Please let us know if we can help you.
ARCHERY SEASON
8/30/08 - 9/28/08
The last 2 weeks of September are the most favorable because of
the rut.
MUZZLELOADER SEASON
9/13/08 - 9/21/08
You must apply for this permit. Limited openings are available and
we will book whomever calls first.
RIFLE
SEASONS
10/11/08
- 10/15/08
FIRST SEASON is a limited license drawing only on either sex elk.
2nd
AND 3rd SEASON
10/18/08 - 10/26/08 and 11/1/08 - 11/7/08
Bull elk licenses are unlimited and available over the counter in
retail businesses. Cow elk and mule deer are special permit by drawing
only.
FOURTH
SEASON
11/12/08 - 11/16/08
Limited elk and mule deer
Must apply for and draw permits for both of these species.
Guided
Hunts During Rifle Seasons: $3500 per person
This hunt can be elk, deer or combo. You must draw your own deer
tag for this hunt.
Mule
Deer Hunt with Guaranteed Tag: $4500
Drop
Camp Hunt During Archery & Muzzleloader: $1500 per person
